  1. I’m beyond sadness to hear about Bro. Arthur Blythe’s transition! I grew up hearing his sound in the early 80s and met him in November 1988 when I came to NY playing with Lester Bowie’s Quintet that included Donald Smith, Cecil McBee, Philip Wilson, Lester & I! Arthur was always encouraging to this “Youngblood” and I thank him for his soul, sound & spirit!! Rest In Power Black Arthur!!
