ICONIC JAZZ DRUMMER BILLY HIGGINS CELEBRATED BY THE WORLD STAGE COMMUNITY

On Tuesday November 29th at 7pm friends, jazzophiles can celebrate and honor Billy Higgins via the new Jazz Series, Performers Alley hosted by Robert “Hipster” Carmack. Live Streamed, the show is planned for the in-person audience and ONLINE audiences.

Music talent for the evening{ previously recorded at a private showing} is Marvin Smitty Smith Sextet. Marvin on drums with Ralph Moore tenor sax, alto sax Dale Fielder, and Chris Lowry on trumpet. filling out the group is bassist Edwin Livingston and pianist, Adam Ledbetter.

An evening of curated tunes Higgins recorded either as sideman or leader. In addition, Carmack indicated, “we have a sublime group panel of friends and colleagues answering questions in a Q&A session called “ASK the Artist”, a very special guest will be Mr. Todd Barkan ,longtime proprietor of San Francisco’s Keystone Korner, now located in Baltimore.

Get in on all the fun discussing this iconic musician and jazz activist’s involvement in founding the World Stage ,along with Poet Laureate Kamau Daood . Robert added, “the fun part is hearing all the great stories by those that either played or, was a close fellow musician.
